The Asian Festival of Children's Content 2012

asian-festival-of-childrens-content-2012The Asian Festival of Children’s Content will host their 2012 networking programmes at The Art’s House on May 26-29.

The four-day event will feature book launches, reading programs, galleries, a marketplace to interact and award presentations.

Writers, producers, illustrators, booksellers, digital artists and designers will have the opportunity to explore how to effectively distribute quality Asian content to children in Asia and worldwide.

There will also be a showcase of illustrations from local and regional artists to display their work. Readers can interact with the authors and enquire about the books during the launch sessions.

On May 26 at 7 p.m., a special evening is dedicated to the industry professionals to gather, network and develop opportunities to work together. A pitching session to MediaCorp will be arranged for authors and publishers who are interested.

Sunday, May 27, will feature Mind Development Specialist MindChamps hosting a definitive reading program for children aged between 3 to 7 years old. Also, a Cyber Wellness Bus will be present to educate school children on the dangers and benefits of being online.

The closing event will kickoff with the Scholastic Asian Book Awards Presentation. The new SingTel Asian Picture Book Award and details of Hedwig Anuar Children’s Book Award will be announced, followed by a presentation by Leonard Marcus, a renowned historian and children’s book critic.
